About the Challenge

AI Technology

Uraan AI Techathon 1.0 is Pakistan's first national AI-focused techathon, launched under the E-Pakistan Uraan Program. The initiative brings together students, professionals, startups, and researchers to design and develop innovative AI-driven solutions across 12 priority thematic areas aligned with national needs.

More than a traditional hackathon, Techathon 1.0 is a structured innovation journey that enables participants to transform ideas into scalable, real-world solutions. Selected teams will benefit from cash awards, mentorship, incubation support, and commercialisation opportunities through collaboration with government entities and industry partners.

Techathon Phases
Phase 1 - Idea & Project Submission

Teams may submit solutions to defined sub-problems or present existing projects/startups aligned with the thematic areas.

  • Teams submit entries through the official portal
  • Shortlisted teams will be contacted via email to submit source code and supporting material
  • All submissions undergo technical evaluation
Phase 2 - Techathon Day

Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the National Techathon Day in Islamabad.

  • Teams will present solutions before judges and a technical evaluation committee
  • Evaluation will focus on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and impact
  • Winners will be announced on the same day
  • No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided
Phase 3 - Incubation & Mentorship

Winning teams will advance to a structured incubation phase.

  • Mentorship by industry experts
  • Access to cloud resources and technical support
  • Pilot opportunities with public and private sector stakeholders
  • Incubation duration: up to 6 months (tentative)
